Short version
We do not require you to create an account to browse tournaments. We do not sell personal data. We collect the minimum needed to keep the site running, to measure which tournaments get clicks, and — only if you opt in — to send you a daily digest of new tournaments matching your filters.
What we collect automatically
- Server access logs: IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp. Retained 30 days for abuse prevention, then deleted.
- Cookies: a session cookie for the residency filter selection. No third-party advertising cookies.
- Analytics: aggregate page views and click counts. No cross-site tracking.
- Referral click metadata: when you click “Join on <Exchange>”, the destination URL includes a partner ID that identifies us to the exchange. The exchange, not this site, runs KYC and account creation.
What we collect with consent
- Email + filter prefs (only if you subscribe at /subscribe): country, category preferences, minimum prize pool. Used solely to send you the daily digest. One-click unsubscribe in every email.
- Partner application form data (only if you fill /partners/apply): company name, contact name, email, website. Used to evaluate the partnership and reply to you.
What we do not collect
- Payment information (we never take payments from you)
- Wallet addresses or exchange credentials
- Your trading results, balances, or P&L
- Government-issued IDs or KYC documents
Legal basis (EU/UK)
For visitors in the EU, UK, and similar jurisdictions, our legal basis for processing logs and analytics is “legitimate interest” (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). For newsletter and partner-application data, the legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can exercise your rights (access, erasure, objection, portability) by emailing hello@trading-tournaments.com.
Third parties
- Our hosting provider, for serving pages and storing logs (30 days).
- Our transactional email provider, used only when you trigger an action (subscribe verify-link, unsubscribe confirmation, partner reply).
- Each partner exchange's affiliate tracking system, activated only when you click a referral link. Their privacy policies govern what happens after you leave our site.
Changes
If we update this policy materially, we'll note the change in a visible banner for at least 30 days.
