Danillo Ramos Duarte
🇧🇷Brazil· São Vicente, SP
"No mercado não vence quem faz a operação mais bonita — vence quem sabe sobreviver às perdas."
Danillo Ramos Duarte spent fifteen years on the factory floor at Usiminas, one of Brazil's largest steel mills, working night shifts while most of his colleagues slept. He started trading in October 2020 — pandemic hours at home instead of overtime. The serious phase began in February 2022, when the Russia-Ukraine invasion blew Brazilian volatility wide open. He lost R$80,000 learning how markets actually move. That loss wrote the rules he still trades by.
His Copa BTG method is built in layers: macro first — Powell speeches, U.S. data releases, global flow — then chart structure, then the entry. He kept rotation tight, leaning on WIN mini-futures as his primary instrument and using others only for confirmation. Three online qualifying phases. Then a live final in front of 2,000 people in São Paulo. He walked out with R$1 million and the title of Brazil's first Copa BTG Trader champion.
He is not a content creator. No YouTube channel, no LinkedIn, no personal brand. He ran night shifts at the steel mill and traded the morning Bovespa session without sleeping. The story BTG is now amplifying — operário que virou milionário — is exactly the proof-of-concept the Brazilian retail trading community had been waiting for: that the screen can be open to anyone who shows up.
