Nathan Michaud

Michaud started trading in 2003, founded the InvestorsLive blog in 2004 to fight his own habit of over-trading away morning gains, and after graduating University of New Hampshire with a finance degree in 2007 went full-time. In 2008 he launched Investors Underground (IU) — a paid, premium chat room on top of the live-trading blog. By the mid-2010s IU was the most-cited subscription day-trading community in US small-caps, the place where names like Tim Grittani, Steven Dux, Cameron Fous and others built audience before they branched off into their own brands.

His own trading lane is largely small-cap momentum and short selling on overhyped names — the same playbook that defines the Sykes/IU lineage — but Michaud distinguishes himself by trading exclusively with his own capital and refusing the alert-service / signal-seller model that surrounds him. The educational pillar is what he is most known for: the Textbook Trading DVD (2013) and Tandem Trader (2014, co-produced with Cameron Fous) are still cited as foundational coursework inside the small-cap community. On X he reaches 245K followers as @InvestorsLive, where he posts both live trade commentary and the occasional pointed thread on the line between education and promotion.
