Protecting the account and staying in the game is more important than maximizing the return on any individual trade.
Pau Perdices Bellet is the new face of WCTC Forex: 600.9% net in the 2025 Forex Championship, plus wins in the 2025 Quarterly Forex format in Q2 (267.8%) and Q3 (184.1%). The result exceeds Lorenzo Misino's 405.5% from 2021 and is reported by Spanish trading press as the highest WCTC Forex return on record. In the final 2025 table he finished roughly three times ahead of runner-up Patrick Nill (202.1%). He is 24 years old, from Lleida in Catalonia, and self-taught: he started with crypto at 18 and built his trading approach independently through his own experience in the markets.
His breakthrough came after a painful lesson: a very strong month given back within a couple of days. He stepped back, reassessed everything and rebuilt his approach from the ground up. Today he trades with the prevailing trend, identifying direction on the higher timeframes and entering on corrections on the lower ones, using key price levels and indicators to time the reversal. Gold's exceptional 2025 trends suited the strategy perfectly, delivering a win rate of around 78%. Position size always starts from the worst-case scenario, so no single trade can damage long-term performance.
In 2026 his focus has shifted to futures, where he is currently competing. He is active on X as @PauPerdicesFX and on LinkedIn, and has been profiled by Gestion.pe and Spanish-language trading media including X-Trader and Escuela Traders.
Interview
You started with crypto at 18. What pulled you specifically into trading rather than anything else?
Trading felt like the pinnacle of difficulty. The speed at which you can make or lose money makes it an extremely demanding field, and I thought that if I could master it, I could potentially become successful relatively quickly. When you're young, you don't always have the vision or patience to build something over decades, and that naturally pushed me more towards trading.
There were unstable years before your breakout in 2025. What happened in the moment you decided to rebuild your approach from scratch?
I had a very strong month, but then I gave most of it back within a couple of days. That was a turning point for me. I realized that if I continued trading that way, it wasn't going to be sustainable in the long run. I decided to take a step back, reassess everything I was doing, and rebuild my approach to the market from the ground up.
Walk us through an ideal setup step by step, from spotting the trend to pulling the trigger.
First, I identify the main trend, usually on the longer timeframes. Then I wait for a correction against that trend on the shorter timeframes. Rather than chasing the initial move, I want to enter during that correction, looking for the point where it is likely to reverse and resume the main trend. I use key price levels together with indicators to help identify where that reversal could occur. Once I see the setup I am looking for, I enter with the broader trend.
Your win rate is around 78%, unusually high for a year with this kind of return. How did you get there?
Gold had an exceptional year, and that created very favorable conditions for my strategy. My approach is heavily based on trading with the prevailing trend, so when you have strong and persistent trends in the market, it can naturally lead to a high win rate.
You've said risk management matters more than the entry itself. What does your position-sizing rule look like in practice?
When I size a position, I always start by considering the worst-case scenario for the trade. I then size the position accordingly so that even if that scenario happens, it doesn't have a significant impact on my long-term performance. For me, protecting the account and staying in the game is more important than maximizing the return on any individual trade.
What does "play your own championship" mean to you?
It means not changing the way you trade just because you see someone else making more money or taking more risk. You have to trade at your own pace and within the limits of your own strategy. If you win, you win, and if you don't, you should still be able to look back and know that you executed your approach properly and achieved what the market conditions allowed your strategy to achieve.
After the Forex title, what's next for you in 2026?
I'm currently trading in the futures competition, so my focus has shifted towards futures this year.
If 18-year-old you, just getting into crypto, asked for advice, what would you tell him not to do?
I would tell him not to try to hit a home run with every trade or every investment. Take the slow and steady approach. Focus on building consistency and surviving the market long enough to develop the experience you need. You don't have to make everything happen at once.
