Peter Brandt is one of the most respected classical chartists alive, with more than four decades trading commodities, futures and currencies since the 1970s. He built his approach on the timeless patterns of Edwards and Magee, reading the market as a map of human behavior rather than a crystal ball.

Through his firm Factor LLC and the Factor research letter, he shares a discipline built on tiny risk per trade, patience, and respect for the primary trend. His book on the diary of a professional commodity trader became a modern classic, and his commentary has made him one of the most followed technical voices anywhere, equally read by commodity veterans and crypto natives.

He remains active and outspoken: in mid-2026 he publicly weighed rotating part of his Bitcoin into gold, citing the XAU/BTC ratio and a possible macro cycle shift, while still holding a long-term Bitcoin target of $300,000 to $500,000 by 2029.
