Steven Dux was born in China and moved to the United States for high school, later studying environmental science at the University of Cincinnati. He says he began trading around age 22 and turned a small account into seven figures by short-selling low-float penny-stock pump-and-dumps and backtesting his setups heavily. The exact figures shift across his own materials, from "$21,000 into $1.3 million" to "$27,000 into $3 million," a discrepancy worth noting up front.

On the back of that story he built a large education business: the YouTube channel @stevendux (294,000 subscribers, 400+ videos), Dux Trading LLC, and the paid Freedom Challenge and Dux Academy programs, marketed under a "verified millionaire" banner with extensive affiliate promotion.

For trading-tournaments.com, Dux is a notable figure in the retail short-selling scene, but his performance claims are self-reported, not independently audited, and have been publicly disputed. The directory documents him with that context and treats every headline number as a claim rather than a verified fact.
